Frequently Asked Questions
What will the video sessions include?
We have selected six Muslim countries to visit and will be looking closely at the geography, special landmarks including local mosques, the unique clothing and customs, and trees and animals from the region. There will also be a cooking demonstration of a favorite local food. YUMM!
How long are the pre-recorded videos?
The videos are approximately 45 minutes, but may vary slightly dependent upon the activities included.
How will the programming be engaging if it is pre-recorded?
Our hosts are incredibly capable of engaging students even in the recorded sessions. There will be stories, references to the Quran and sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, beautiful photographs, and more.
Are there required assignments to complete?
We will be providing supplemental worksheets to expand learning outside of the "class," but in these classes, the assignments are only suggested, not required.
How is the cooking segment handled?
Sr. Huda's cooking segment will feature a favorite dish from the country we are visiting. She will explain ingredients and techniques. Younger children will need supervision, particularly with the use of knives and any recipe that is cooked on the stove or in the oven. The recording makes it easy for the student to work at his/her own pace.
